My TOP TESTED ‘Morning Routine’ Products

Since perfecting my morning routine (more on that later) I have been splashing out on a load of wonderful products. And now I am reviewing them to see what I will be buying again….

1. Garnier Summer Body Light Gradual Tan Moisturiser 250ml – (£8.01)

Garnier Summer Body Light Gradual Tan Moisturiser

I have been using this stuff for years. Seriously, I won’t use anything else. Every morning before I do anything else I apply this to my arms, legs, or torso (I alternate daily to give even coverage). It smells amazing and it doesn’t feel sticky. Although – I do stay naked in the bathroom doing the rest of my morning routine while it sinks into my skin. You won’t be able to put clothes straight on for about 10/15mins. This lotion builds a gradual tan (when used regularly) with no horrible streaks and I always get compliments from people saying I look like I have just come back from a sun holiday. I very much doubt there is another product out there that will match this. I love the price and I love the way it makes me look and feel. Quick note though – If you are of fair skin MAKE sure you buy the ‘Light’ version and not the ‘Dark’. I have made this mistake before and after one application ended up looking like Ross after his unfortunate visit to the tanning salon in FRIENDS.

2.  – Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pore & Shine Daily Scrub(£3.33)

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pore & Shine Daily Scrub(£3.33)

I have used an exfoliating scrub on a morning for years now and I love how it wakes up my skin. I always test out a different brand when I run out and so far I would say this is my least favourite. Neutrogena is a very reliable brand and they certainly helped me rid many a spot during my teens, but they don’t win my favor with this scrub. It is a very purse-friendly price and it does smell beautifully fresh BUT I am convinced it is drying out my skin. I probably won’t repurchase.

3. Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser 100ml (£17.00)

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser 100ml (£17.00)

Two words – Holy Grail! I could rave about this product forever. In fact, I probably need to dedicate a whole entire blog post to this product so that I don’t ramble on here. This cleanser has been extremely popular all over YouTube and as the slave to advertising that I am, I just had to have it. It’s expensive, but it is oh so worth it. This is the first cleanser I have ever had that you apply to a dry face. I first thought that having a dry face wouldn’t make the cleanser as effective and kept re-reading the bottle to make sure I hadn’t misunderstood, but I was very wrong. It’s so much better! You massage it in and then use the wet Muslin Cloth to cleanse off the cream. It instantly gets all that leftover make-up from the night before (or all of it if you had a late one and woke up with panda eyes) and applying to a dry face means that you don’t get water all over yourself and the bathroom floor like the mess I usually create with a wet cleanser. My skin feels clean and fresh after use and I almost don’t need to follow up with moisteriser because my skin is so soft!

Liz Earle – you have won yourself a customer for life!

4. Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser 125ml (£4.29)

Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser 125ml (£4.29)

Simple and easy – this is always my go to moisturising lotion. It always leaves my face feeling fresh and plump. At such a good price, it amazes me just how effective it is and even after using a luxury lotion for awhile, I always go back to my favourite. I have dry skin and this simple little lotion gives my face the good thirst quench it needs.

5. Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Moisturising Lip Balm (£3)

Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Moisturising Lip Balm (£3)

I started using this little savior in the winter when my lips were all cracked. It was actually a gift from a friend and not something I would have thought to pick up myself as I didn’t like the thought of beeswax. It smells great though and being a natural product it doesn’t taste cheap like some of these high street chemically created products. My lips tend to be quite dry and crinkly after a long sleep and this really softens them.

6. Nivea SPF 50 Face (£9.99)

6. Nivea SPF 50 Face

We have all heard the advice before – don’t ever skip suncream. But how often do we actually listen when we are not basking in the sun all day? I know I never bothered. But last year I noticed the dreaded fine lines creeping up around my eyes and cursed myself for not following this advice from a younger age. Now, I don’t want the sun to touch my face again. EVER! So I am now using this every day as an essential product to my morning routine. It’s not sticky at all and sinks into my skin really quickly. My make-up doesn’t slide off over it either, which was a worry of mine. And the bonus – it smells like a holiday on your face!

7. Palmer’s Coconut Oil Strong Roots Spray (£10.32)

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Strong Roots Spray

My hair was totally destroyed from bleaching and just WOULD NOT grow at all. Every time I brushed my hair, it would break. After doing some (desperate) research I came across this product. Reviews all said that this helped their hair grow strong. The product also promised to help my flaky scalp which has always been a battle of mine. I decided to give it a go and I have not been disappointed. I NEVER wash my hair of a morning (ain’t nobody got time for that!) and sometimes find my hair feels a bit tight and dry of a morning. I spray this into certain areas of my scalp and give my head a little massage and it really freshens it up. And the smell – well it’s pure coconut so it smells amazing!!

Only downside is that it can make my hair feel a little bit greasy on 2nd day hair.

8. Hawaiian Tropics Golden Paradise Body Mist 100ml (£7)

Hawaiian Tropics Golden Paradise Body Mist

Absolutely love this product! Once I have got dressed I like to spray a ton of this on my skin and clothes. Honestly, there isn’t really any skin benefits to this – it’s certainly not moisturising or anything but you smell like a Pina Colada all day, and I am totally OK with that.

9. Hask Argan Oil 5-in-1 Leave-In Spray 175ml (£12.99)

Hask Argan Oil 5-in-1 Leave-In Spray 175ml

As someone with seriously dry hair (the curses of bleach) I have been using hair oil for years and Argan Oil is the best of the best. I run a pea sized amount through my hair after I have styled it and it just brings some life back to the strands. It’s like watering a really sad plant! 🙂
