Laugh Your Ass Off – Every Chance You Get!

Laugh Your Ass Off – Every Chance You Get

The start of a new decade is the perfect time to reflect and look back on the things that have happened to us through our lives.

Life is a roller-coaster. Sometimes it’s fun. Sometimes it’s scary. Sometimes it’s up. Sometimes it’s down.

There are always so many things available to us. So many opportunities. So many lessons to learn. So much room to grow.

We can take these opportunities and grow, or we can waste our lives with the same mundane routines.

The choice is yours.

The following blog posts are the top lessons I have learned along my journey to self-improvement so far.

I hope these lessons help you along your own path.

ONE: Stay Present

TWO: Do What You Love. Every Day

THREE: Life Is Awesome On The Other Side Of Fear – Face Up To Your Fear NOW!!!

FOUR: Always Trust Your Gut. It Knows What Your Head Hasn’t Figured Out Yet.

FIVE: Buying Stuff WON’T Make You Happy. I PROMISE!

SIX: Going Through Hell Shapes Us Into The Best Version Of Ourselves.

SEVERN: How To Keep Fit During Lockdown!

EIGHT: Take Time For Yourself And Let It Be

Laugh Every Chance You Get

MRW when my friends tell a horrible joke - Meme on Imgur

Ok, that joke was bloody awful! But hear me out……

There have been a TON of studies done to show the positive effects on the mind and body from laughter. When you laugh, chemicals are released in the brain which give you that “natural high” – thats those ‘Endorphins’ I am talking about again and your body benefits in much the same way it would have if you had just been for a run. Seriously!!!

Laugh Your Ass Off!

Laughter has also been proven to relieve pain and discomfort. When you are in pain or feeling depressed your body is usually really stiff and rounded, full of tension and anxiety. It’s a bloody awful feeling that I am sure you are all aware of. But get this, it is physcially IMPOSSIBLE to laugh when you are in that state. Laughing literally causes the muscles to relax and its a well known fact that the more relaxed you are, the less pain you feel. That’s why they give you that wonderful happy gas when you are in a lot of pain or suffering from a lot of tension – because it relaxes the muscles. Laughing has the exact same effect!!!

Who wouldn’t want a dose of that every day?

So……..laugh your ass off!!!!

Watch funny movies.

Read funny blogs or books.

Watch funny YouTube Videos….here is my favourite.

Laugh and joke with as many people as you can as often as you can.

Surround yourself with funny friends and if you don’t have one – go find one.

Go to Comedy Shows!!

Life is too short to take it too seriously. We can literally cause ourselves to get sick when we stress and worry and take life too seriously.

Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh … and then Laugh Your Ass Off some more!!!!!!

The secret to being happy is to be able to find happiness in the present moment……always! We need to be able to laugh at difficulties as soon as they happen, and look for the positives and the funny side. Because there is ALWAYS a funny side.

When you are going through a tough time (and you will, because we ALL face tough times) don’t make the situation worse by being miserable as well!! Some people go through a rough patch in life and refuse to even crack a smile for years – prolongling the problem and probably getting a name for themselves a miserable sod along with it.

But if you decide to stop being miserable and find some fun in life and start laughing, the problems will go away a lot faster!!! When we are having fun, we feel better, we look better, we work better and people want to be around us!!

So go give yourself a good belly laugh!!! And make a point of doing it as often as possible.

It will keep you happy, healthy and balanced!!

“If you can laugh in the face of adversity, you’re bullet-proof.”

Ricky Gervais

I have actually made a point of declaring Thursdays ‘Funny Thursday’ and make sure that every Thursday I am light-hearted and laughing. I switch up my usual dark horror drama’s or movies for comedy. I listen to hilarious podcasts and seek out funny stuff to share with you guys online. I laugh with friends and family, avoid the news at all costs and try to make a consious POINT of laughing whenever anything goes wrong. Just making a full DAY to be aware of the positive effect of laughing has been so powerful and I would love it if you all joined me on it and started a bandwaggon.

So go on then, let’s cheer each other up!! Drop your favourtite giggle inspiration in the comments below. Maybe your favourite joke, link to a hilarious youtube video, or perhaps plug your own comedy podcast? Leave the links below and lets all have a good belly laugh!!!!

Great post! So true as well, it’s often when it’s so hard to find humour in things that it’s most needed! Luckily there’s always a boat-load of memes and funny videos on the internet to help out 🙂

They say laugher is the best medicine and right now with everything going on the world is so heavy this definitely brightened up my day!

Do you know sometimes I find it difficult to laugh if someone suggests me to do it when I feel low or I had a particularly bad day… otherwise I’m like 😀

But, yes, life’s too short to live it with a ‘grumpy face’ all day!

    xoxo and stay safe!
